- Nicolaas Maritz describes himself as a metaphysical artist, whose work represents a geometric visual interpretation of the Aquarian age. The Age of Aquarius represents a time of spiritual evolvement of self. My art explores an altered state of consciousness journey through time and space that transform energy into substance as the inner self aligned from being unconscious to conscious. With a spiritual evolvement in mind Nicolaas creates Sacred Geometry sculptures that explore a metaphysical cosmic energy. When I create these sculptures I undergo an emotional healing and my soul transcends time and space. Nicolaas lives in the Cradle of Humankind near Kromdraai, a world heritage site in South Africa and a place where the oldest human DNA on the planet has been found.
